Valentine’s day is just a few weeks away and it’s time to start thinking and preparing for what you want your day to be like. Whether you’re celebrating with your Valentine or a bunch of Galentine's, everyone deserves a happy day filled with love!

Here’s a few simple ways to love February 14 whether you’re single or in a relationship.

1. Gather who you want to spend the day or evening with.

If you have a significant other, sit down and see what your schedules look like and when you will be celebrating together. If not, gather your closest friends that also don’t have big plans this day and start talking about what everyone wants to do. Even if you’re single, you don’t HAVE to hate this day.

2. Plan an activity

Valentine’s day is a special occasion, so plan something you’ve been wanting to do. Maybe it’s the new 50 Shades of Grey movie, bowling, dinner at a fancy restaurant, or game night at home. Plan an activity that is sure to fill you with joy! If you’re in college, you don’t have to spend a ton of money. Plan a night in with a Netflix movie, order a pizza, and bake some cookies. Simple nights like these with friends or your man are just as fun!

3. Make a fun treat from Pinterest

Are you Pinterest obsessed? Same. There’s thousands of fun Valentine’s recipes on Pinterest that vary from time consuming to throwing a few things in a bowl. Search for a fun treat and make one that you normally wouldn’t. Wrap them up in little baggies to give to friends or save it all for yourself. ;)

4. Say something nice to someone or do an act of kindness

What’s a day filled with love without a little love from yourself? Even if you plan a great day, there’s always someone who’s not having a good day themselves. Send out a few texts to close friends or family telling them you love them, pay it forward at Starbucks, and/or give someone a compliment as you’re walking on campus or in a store. Those are just a few ways out of a million that can make someone’s day a lot better.

Wishing you the happiest Valentine’s day! XO
